This year’s Asphalt Preservation Project includes Navajo Dr. (Rt 6 to Sioux) where work will take place tomorrow (August 1, 2013). Although two-way traffic will remain open at all times, traffic controls and workers will be present from around 7:30 am to 4 or 5 pm. Please drive slow.
Work consists of spraying an asphalt emulsion followed by light sand application for traction. In the morning the Contractor will restrict traffic to the northbound side of the road. They will then spray the southbound side which will mostly cure in around 2 hours; any tracking at that point should be light. Sometime between 11 and noon, after shifting traffic to the treated southbound lane, they will spray the northbound lane. A few hours after that, paint striping will take place.
The greatest chance for having to drive through freshly applied sealer in the morning will be those entering or leaving St. Anne’s Church.
The greatest chance for having to drive through freshly applied sealer between 11 and 1 will be those entering or leaving the Village Hall or Police Department.
