The Village of Channahon and the Three Rivers Public Library invite you to kick off the holiday season with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Event. It will take place at the Village Hall, 24555 S. Navajo Drive on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The festivities will start at 3 p.m. when Santa makes his grand entrance with the help from the Channahon Fire Protection District to the Village Hall. Santa will then be available for photographs before the tree lighting.
Bundle up for the horse-drawn carriage rides and come inside to warm up with some hot cocoa and cookies. The lobby will have trees decorated with ornaments made by Channahon Park District – Kids Connection, Kidz Korner and Kiddie Kampus Learning Center.
Relax and enjoy a musical performance by Mr. Kevin Becker and the Channahon Junior High School Band. You will also have the opportunity to sing Christmas carols along with the MCHS Madrigals. The Three Rivers Public Library will have cookies to decorate and a craft project for the children.
The event will conclude as Mayor Joe Cook along with Little Miss Channahon and her court countdown to light the Christmas Tree.
The Village would also like to send a very special thank you to the Phillip Allensworth Family for their donation of the Christmas tree.
The event is free and is open to everyone! Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, since some activities will be outside. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Village at 815-467-6644.
