Overview

The Village of Channahon Tree Board is an all-volunteer advisory board appointed by the Village Board. Its main duty is to advise the Village on potential threats to the health of trees located within our Village, promote the planting and care of trees and inform our citizens about the benefits of trees. The Tree Board was formed in 1996.

Programs

  1. Street Trees
  2. Arbor Day
  3. Memorial Tree Walk
  4. Emerald Ash Borer
  5. Big Tree Registry
  6. Tree City USA

One of the primary tasks of the Tree Board is to advise the Village on the care of street trees. Trees located in the parkways (between the sidewalk and curb) are maintained by the Village. Due to the presence of the Emerald Ash Borer in Channahon, the Tree Board prepared and the Village Board approved a program to replace Ash Trees in the parkways.
