The National Mayor's Challenge for water conservation began on April 1st and needs your support. It's easy to participate and it's free! Just go to www.mywaterpledge.com(link) and select your city, then answer a few questions about how you are willing to conserve water. Once complete, you can choose to enter the drawing for prizes. If you sign up through Facebook, you will be given a code to share with your friends and neighbors and given more opportunities to win prizes.
The Grand Prairie Water Commission members (Channahon, Crest Hill, Joliet, Minooka Romeoville, and Shorewood) have bet each other their community can conserve the most. At the end of the challenge, the GPWC member that ranks the best will be congratulated on social media by all the other GPWC communities. Help your community take on the title of GPWC Member Best at Conservation and receive the traveling trophy until the 2024 competition. You can see where Channahon stands throughout the competition at https://mywaterpledge.com/city-standings/ (link).
By taking the pledge you can be entered to win the individual grand prize to have your utility bill paid for a year! For your community to win, they need to have the most pledges in their population category.
