VOTES
The Board voted on the following items during the formal meeting:
- Approved: Approval of Contract with Kluber Architects + Engineers for Design Services for a Proposed Public Works Facility
- The Village is entering into a contract with Kluber Architects + Engineers for architectural and engineering services to develop a new Public Works facility, expected to be located across from Minooka Community High School South Campus. The contract, valued at a not-to-exceed amount of $194,195.00, encompasses the concept development and schematic design phases of the project.
- Approved: Uni-Max Management Corporation Contract for Janitorial Services
- The Village of Channahon received three proposals in response to its November 12, 2024 Request for Proposals for janitorial services for Village Hall and the Police Department. The Village is accepting an agreement with Uni-Max Management Corp. janitorial services at a cost of $1,800.00 per month.
- Approved: Engineering Proposal to Perform AWWA Water Audits
- As part of its Lake Michigan water allocation permit from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the Village is required to reduce its non-revenue water to below ten percent. To accomplish this, the Village is hiring Engineering Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) to perform a water audit for water year 2024 and a water system improvement plan, both of which are required by the IDNR. EEI has previously completed water audits for the Village for water years 2022 and 2023; in both of those years, the Village’s non-revenue water was below the ten percent limit.
- Approved: Acceptance of Amendment No. 1 to Strand Associates’ Proposal for the Completion of an Optimal Corrosion Control Treatment Study
- As part of Channahon’s transition to Lake Michigan water, the Village is conducting an Optimal Corrosion Control Treatment (OCCT) study to assess and mitigate potential impacts on its infrastructure. Strand Associates and Cornwell are performing the study, which involves testing Lake Michigan water on previously harvested pipes from local homes to optimize corrosion prevention. Channahon is sharing costs with neighboring communities, including Romeoville, Crest Hill, Shorewood, and Minooka. This amendment reflects the Village’s share of this collaborative effort.
- Approved:Change Order 4 to the Well No. 7 Drilling Contract
- The Village has previously entered into a contract with Cahoy Pump Service to drill Well 7. The contract is nearly complete, but is overdue. This Change Order adjusts final quantity amounts and applies liquidated damages.
