The Village's crack routing and sealing program will begin Tuesday, July 11 (weather depending) on various streets within the Village. Crack routing and sealing is a process using a machine to widen cracks in the pavement to allow for adequate penetration of a rubberized crack sealer reducing water from entering the road base and extending the life of the pavement.
The most important thing to understand about the crack routing process is that the routing work is extremely dusty. The Village recommends that you keep home and car windows closed if this work is taking place on your street. The Village also asks that you not park on the street during crack fill work. Because this work is contracted by the pound, it is unknown exactly how many roads will be treated, but it should be at least half the list. The specific day your street will be treated is not available. Upon completion of the contract, Village streets receiving this treatment will be swept from curb to curb, removing excess dust and debris.
Working hours are weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The Village would appreciate your patience if crack filling work takes place in your area.
