At the May 6, 2024 Village Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously passed a Resolution of Opposition to the 64-acre Commercial Solar Energy Facility (solar farm) proposed to be located on the east side of McKinley Woods Rd. between Bridge St./Hansel Rd. and the Village of Channahon water tower.
The Village will formally present the Resolution of Opposition to the Will County Land Use Department before the public hearing scheduled for May 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the Will County Office Building (302 North Chicago Street, 2nd floor boardroom, Joliet, IL 60432). Elected officials and staff from the Village of Channahon will be present at the meeting to voice concerns about the proposed project. The Village encourages its residents to attend the meeting to share their thoughts on the matter as well.
