The Village of Channahon is located within five townships in Will and Grundy Counties. Boundaries for other taxing bodies such as elementary and high school districts, the Channahon Park District, library districts, and fire districts vary throughout the Village. The taxing bodies affecting a particular parcel of property will depend on where that parcel is located.
Tax Rates
To determine the tax rate for an individual parcel, you need to know the tax code in which the parcel is located. The tax code provides the total tax rate for all taxing bodies covering that area. If you live in Will County, you can check the Will County map here (link) to determine the tax code and total tax rate for your property. If you live in Grundy County, please refer to the Grundy County map here (link).
Please note: These maps are provided for informational purposes only. To verify the tax code of a parcel, call the Will County Treasurer’s Office at 815-740-4675 or call the Supervisor of Assessment’s Office in Grundy County at 815-941-3269. You will need to have the Parcel Identification Number (PIN) for the property when you call.
Nearly 30 subdivisions offer a variety of housing styles throughout the Village.
The Channahon Town Center, located at Route 6 and Bluff Road, is designed to provide for an active, well-rounded, attractive and flexible village core. It is intended to be the vibrant heart of the community. Its master plan includes shops and parks, offices and entertainment, a government center, and a church and school.
In addition, the plan includes a variety of housing types. The new Channahon Municipal Center is located within the Town Center. The newly constructed Navajo Drive extends south from Cherokee Ridge subdivision through the Town Center to Route 6/Bluff Road.
