On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Village of Channahon will be doing a scheduled watermain repair and shutting off water at 9 a.m. through the completion of the repair for the following areas:
- NE corner of US 6 & Bell Rd North to the Village limits
- Users on W. Arbor Lane, S. Wilderness Court, W. Lookout Point Court, W. Stephanie Drive, W. Ravine Woods Drive, W. Silverstream Drive, W. Sylvan Meadow Drive, S. Stoney Brook Court, S. Tall Tree Court, S. Deer Creek Court
Once the water is turned on, residents in the affected area will be under a boil order. This is a result of a necessary scheduled water main repair. Do not drink water from the tap without boiling it first. Bring water to a boil, let it boil 5 minutes, and then let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food until further notice. We will inform you when the boil order is lifted. If your water comes from another source such as a private well, you may disregard this notice.
The boil order will remain in effect as a precaution until water sample test results indicate that the water is safe for consumption. Initial tests are expected in about 48 hours. When the boil order is lifted, notification will be made through the Village website (www.channahon.org), Village cable TV channel and signage.
